Trekking

YPTibet have hooked up with a Lhasa based NGO to provide Trekking opportunities with the nomadic tribesmen. These are (in our humble opinion) one of the best ways to get truly involved in classic Tibetan life.

Aside from having a pretty damn good time, you will also be doing your little bit to help preserve their culture, with it not only providing employment for the nomadic peoples, but with a large amount of the money being reinvested in them.

Tours are capped at a very strict upper limit, which is not only ethical tourism, but can be really pleasant after a few days in Lhasa.

Tours can be from as little as a day trip, to a full on few weeks.

Prices listed are for the trekking tour only, not including permit, transport, or any nights accommodation on other places, so please get in touch for a more comprehensive quote.

To accommodate groups larger than 8 people for any of these treks we ask that you contact us personally through our e-mail and we will work out the price per person for groups bigger than 8 people.

However we prefer for Nature Conservation purposes and cross cultural sensitivity with the Nomads that we work with to not go larger than 8 people at a time with perhaps an exception of 12 and very rarely 16 people. We reserve the right to refuse to take groups larger than this at any time.

16 people is too large a group for one trek and we do not encourage it as a company we would rather split the group up into two groups and do two different treks if possible. This is because we have a very strict environment protection policy and are deeply concerned with preserving the Natural Environment of Tibet which is a fragile environment to begin with as well as we desire to be sensitive in our approach to the Nomad culture with whom we work.
